While many aspects of family law practice can be divisive, the attorneys at Heckenbach Suazo LLP relish the opportunity to play a role in the creation of new families through the adoption process. Our attorneys have significant experience in assisting stepparents or relatives who are seeking to adopt a child or children in their care.
How Does It Work? The adoption process typically involves two phases: first, the child to be adopted must be deemed “available” for adoption, which may occur when a biological parent consents to relinquish his or her parental rights, or when the Court determines that a parent’s rights should be terminated. Once this occurs, the child may be legally adopted into the new family. We are also committed to defending any parent who objects to the termination of his or her parental rights when the adoption is not the child’s best interests.
