In January of 2000, Courtney began working in the Judicial Branch for the State of Colorado. Throughout her tenure with the state, Courtney took on many duties including Jury Commissioner, Collection Investigator, Division Clerk, Probate Registrar, Self-Help Coordinator, E-file Specialist, Child Support Enforcement Court Contact, Civil, Criminal and Domestic Judicial Assistant. Courtney has also attended numerous classes, including but not limited to, Monitoring Protective Proceedings (Guardianship & Conservatorship), Basic Skills of Estate Administration (Probate Estates), Mediation and Negotiation Techniques and Path to Supervision. Courtney was nominated as “Employee of the Month” in October of 2003 and was also awarded top performer throughout the 18th Judicial District in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Courtney was asked to present at the March 2008 Probate Seminar, sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association. She also served on multiple committees with the State Court Administrators Office, to help develop new programs and statewide forms.
Courtney has been working for Heckenbach Suazo LLP, as a paralegal, since February of 2010. She specializes in Family Law, Criminal, and Protective Proceedings.
Courtney has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Criminology. She hopes to begin pursuing her Masters in Conflict Resolution or Family and Child Psychology, in 2012.
